Buyer Protection
Escrow on every order
When you pay on Gemmi, your money goes to Gemmi — not the seller. We hold the full amount in escrow and only release it to the seller after your inspection period ends. If the order goes wrong before then, refunds come straight back to your original payment method.
7-day inspection period
Your inspection window opens when you confirm delivery and lasts 7 days. During this time you may have the piece examined by any independent appraiser or gemological lab. If it does not match the listing — wrong stone, wrong metal, certificate mismatch — request a refund from your orders page and our team will step in.
Verified certificates
Listings above US$5,000 must carry a certificate from a recognized lab (GIA, IGI, NGTC, Guild, AGL, GRS). Our review team checks certificate numbers against the issuing lab before a piece can go live.
Vetted sellers only
Every seller is reviewed before joining — business credentials, trade history, and identity verification through our payment partner, Stripe. Sellers are continuously rated on fulfilment, returns, and re-inspection results.
Insured shipping
Sellers are required to ship with tracked, insured, signature-required delivery. If a package is lost or damaged in transit, you are covered — the escrow is never released for an undelivered order.
